Call to Arms! Emergency Militia in Pennsylvania During the Gettysburg Campaign May 15, 2012 through May 1, 2013 These citizen soldiers were the first forces to defend Pennsylvania from the Confederate invasion in June of 1863 and were instrumental in preventing the rebels from crossing the Susquehanna River at Wrightsville, thus saving Harrisburg from capture. The exhibit will feature photographs, objects, and maps relating to the emergency forces.
